BUNKO BUNNIES!

they were as tasty as they were cute.  Well. .  . . for a first attempt.  You must have to catch them at precisely the right moment during the rise to get them to look like the easter bunnie rolls of pinterest fame:
and I forgot to add the Italian Seasoning to the recipe until the last second, and the Soup wasn't quite thickened enough until and hour after dinner.  BUT, we all had a good relaxing time.  YAY Bunko!
And here's a gratuitous cat and Abi picture.  Tomorrow, I turn 49!

3 am and I'm Endorsing people on Linked In ?

Oh dear,

Insomnia!  Brought on by (well, habit) and worry over the To DO list that just never seems to shorten, let alone get done - and what am I doing?  Well, I went down to get my book for literacy class . . .  and so on.  An hour later I have to stop myself from randomly endorsing friends and acquaintances on Linked In!  I am now watching the winter Sochi Olympics!  Thank you Olympics, for giving me something semi useful to do.

It is just not our day say the Russians about the loss of the hockey game. Not so much as a medal this time around.  I'm waxing philosophical over how much the world has changed for me personally, and the whole world.  Perhaps it's time to try that sleep thing again.

BLOG BGOL GLOB LOBG BLGO BLOG

Ugh - what a day!  The kids were NUTS today!  What are they thinking?!  Picking at each other (just the ones who can dish it out but can't take it).  Girl fight 2 doors down, well, almost.  And there where 20 + standing around egging them on, with their phones out taking videos. . .  . grrr.

Then there's the zero motivation crowd.  Also driving me crazy.  What the hell are THEY thinking!?!  (No, I don't find your assignment.  YOU go find your assignment.  NO.  You don't just watch you-tube video's because you don't have the piece of paper.  You go get the piece of paper!!!! )  How old are you!!!!

And then there's the class I support, who were all doing independent work on their essays.  What's the topic?  no idea.  What the assignment?  no idea.  Not just my guys, but everyone I asked. Finally I found a few kids out in the hall who actually knew what the assignment was, so I could repeat the info to those who cared to listen.  Afraid to ask because she's told them 50 times?  Or maybe they just don't care?  And yet, if MOST of them don't know what the assignment is, and don't know where to look to get the instructions - teacher needs to adjust her communication skills!

I finished the day back in that same hallway, watching girl #1 lurking around looking for girl #2 to tangle with again. I glared at her and her friends until they left without incident.  (Luckily!  Because I was again the only teacher in that hallway this afternoon.)

Kevin is in California for the day.  We girls are having Papa Johns Cheeseburger pizza.  The pizza is .  . . Weird.

Here's to a better day tomorrow!

Oh Nana, Even you should LISTEN TO THE MAMA!

I just got off the phone with my mom.  I could tell that she was humoring me, saying that "oh of course I'll pick up the ipad and check my email and facebook".  So I took it a step further, "you know, you have to do it every day for it to become a habit, so that it's easy for you.  "Yes, yes, I assure you, I'll do that in just a minute."    She's not gonna do it!  I might as well be telling the teenagers to pick up the dog poop, shovel the walk, fold the laundry.  LISTEN TO THE MAMA!

Seriously.  You will thank me later!
So we have mom all hooked up for Valentines day.

Helped her do a facebook post:
And found her a easy access book club.  She's in a good place, so I can happily go

off back to work this week knowing that she is in good hands.

Lobster Bisque !

Ever since our honey moon in St. Martin, (what, 17 years ago!)  where I had the most wonderful Lobster Bisque - (probably my first, being a land lubber Coloradoan), whenever I see L B I immediately can't stop myself from ordering it, thinking mmmm, it's gonna be fabulous!  And every time, I have been sorely disappoint, that it tastes nothing like the LB of my memories.  This has happened at least a dozen times, varying from OK, to down right gross.  But tonight - tonight was different.  A little white cardboard leftover soup cup Kevin brought home from work, saying lobster bisque on the lid.  I was immediately excited, just because I still have the Pavlovian response to the idea of it. But guarded.  Expecting to be disappointed.

Thank you thank you thank you what ever catering company, who ordered tons of food, so there were tons of left overs, from the unknown San Francisco restaurant, that makes really good LB.  I don't need to have any more now for the next 18 years.  It was that good.

Teeming with Great Ideas!

Let me tell ya, the creative, hard working, conscientious people that I know to make up the teaching profession, are NOT the problem with education.  We are literally bursting with new ideas that would improve, make more efficient, and generally make the world a better place.  Unfortunately, (and here comes the predictable whiny teacher part), we are too underpaid and over worked to even take a decent crack at it!  Feeling like we need a system overhaul - and the system is built to prevent it.

What has my knickers in a twist is a simple tech fix, that they admittedly are also too swamped to discuss implementing.

Ridiculous.

Well, enough belly aching for now.  I've got a huge pile of work to do!

What’s all the fuss

im blogging to see if a few years from now this was really the beginning of the end for PPG. As I think it is.  I have to stay off Facebook ...
